Tayside Aviation established in 1966 is Scotland’s Premier Flight Training Organisation. Operating 18 Aircraft, 12 full time Instructors, 3 examiners on site and all the ground school support.
The fleet includes the fully aerobatic Grob 115 military trainer, PA28s, Cessna 152s/C172s and Piper Seneca and Piper Arrow for the advanced Commercial Pilot training.
Tayside Aviation is the sole contractor to the RAF to provide the prestigious Air Cadet Pilot Scholarships. Tayside also provides scholarships to the Air League Educational Trust and to the Guild of Air Pilots and Navigators (GAPAN) UK and Hong Kong.
Commercial pilot courses including the Multi Engine rating and instrument ratings are all conducted at Dundee Airport. The Multi Crew Cooperation course for Commercial pilots uses our Alsim AL200 Simulator which is also used to support the Multi Engine Instrument Rating.
Dundee is Scotland’s sunniest City and enjoys good flying weather all year round. Tayside Aviation deliver over 200 scholarships throughout the year and Tayside is the only flying training organisation in the UK entrusted to deliver flight training to military standards and is quality controlled by the Royal Air Force central flying school.
Dundee Airport operates full instrument approaches with Air Traffic Control and good access to airways for the more advanced training.
